Yakubu Issahaku, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has alleged that his private residence in Sapeiman was raided by armed National Security operatives on Saturday, 5 April 2025.
According to Issahaku, he was informed via WhatsApp around 6:14 p.m. by a friend that approximately 30 masked and armed military personnel had forcibly entered his home.
He claims the operatives ransacked the entire property, causing significant destruction.
Among the reported damages were broken security doors, disconnected CCTV systems, and the removal of internet routers, switches, and the home’s hard disk. All rooms in the residence were allegedly searched without explanation or legal justification.
Issahaku identified the leader of the operation as Superintendent of Police Sulemana Sule, who he says is currently stationed at Jubilee House and operates from the Blue Gate.
Notably, Issahaku stated that he knows the officer personally and that the superintendent is aware of their acquaintance, further deepening concerns over the motive and legality of the raid.
The incident has sparked serious concerns over the actions of state security operatives and the treatment of individuals associated with former high-ranking officials.
