Karpowership Ghana appoints Ing. Amonoo-Neizer as new MD

Karpowership Ghana has announced the appointment of Ing. Oscar Kojo Amonoo-Neizer as its new Managing Director.
The seasoned energy expert brings over three decades of experience in Ghana’s energy sector, with a strong background in policy development, technical regulation, and project execution.
In a statement released by Sandra Amarquaye, Communications Manager of Karpowership Ghana, the company described Ing. Amonoo-Neizer’s appointment as a strategic move to further strengthen its operations and long-term contribution to Ghana’s energy mix.

A career rooted in energy excellence
Before joining Karpowership Ghana, Ing. Amonoo-Neizer served as Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission of Ghana, where he spearheaded several national initiatives.
He was instrumental in policy formulation, regulatory compliance, and the development of technical regulations and energy efficiency standards.
His leadership significantly enhanced compliance frameworks across the electricity and natural gas sectors.
He also held the position of Director of Energy at the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), where he led technical audits and policy initiatives to improve the reliability and efficiency of electricity delivery in the country.

Academic and professional credentials
Ing. Amonoo-Neizer is a trained Electrical Engineer from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School and a Postgraduate Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany.
A member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), he has represented Ghana in international energy negotiations and regulatory forums.
