Ziniel unanimously endorsed as Nandom MCE

Mr. Anthony Ziniel has been confirmed as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nandom with an unprecedented 100% endorsement from all 36 Assembly Members.
The unanimous vote, held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Nandom Municipal Assembly Hall, drew applause and widespread approval from the public and political stakeholders alike, marking a landmark moment in the municipality’s political journey.
Mr. Ziniel becomes the fourth MCE to serve Nandom since the district was carved out in 2012.
His appointment is seen as a strong statement of unity and confidence in his capabilities, and it reflects the Assembly’s collective trust in his leadership, experience, and vision for development.

A call to serve with integrity
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ziniel expressed deep appreciation to the President of the Republic for the nomination and to the Assembly Members for their overwhelming vote of confidence. “This endorsement is not just a vote of confidence in me, but a call to serve with integrity, vision, and a relentless commitment to the development of our beloved Nandom Municipality,” he stated.
He further pledged to work closely with all stakeholders—traditional authorities, community leaders, the youth, and development partners—to advance a shared agenda for growth and prosperity in the municipality.

A wealth of experience and vision
Mr. Ziniel brings to his new role a distinguished record in public service and political engagement.
With academic qualifications including an LLB degree, an Executive MBA in Project Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education Psychology, he has served across diverse sectors such as education, procurement, logistics, and international development.
Notably, he previously worked as Senior Procurement and Logistics Officer for Creative Associates International under the USAID Littoral Regional Initiative Program.
In that capacity, he oversaw large-scale projects across Ghana, Togo, and Benin, earning recognition for his efficient project execution and leadership.
Politically, Mr. Ziniel has also been an influential figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), contributing to strategic campaign efforts and grassroots mobilization in the Nandom Constituency.

A new chapter for Nandom
Residents and traditional leaders have welcomed Mr. Ziniel’s confirmation with optimism, expressing hope that his leadership will bring renewed focus to development priorities such as infrastructure improvement, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
His administration is expected to focus on bridging development gaps, enhancing education and health services, and fostering a culture of collaboration between the Assembly and local communities.

Regional swearing-in ceremony set for May 2
The official swearing-in ceremony for all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Upper West Region, including Mr. Ziniel, has been scheduled for Friday, May 2, 2025, in Wa.
The event is expected to bring together government officials, traditional rulers, civil society organizations, and community representatives as the new MMDCEs formally assume office.
As Nandom enters a new chapter, many are hopeful that Mr. Ziniel’s leadership will signal a period of accelerated progress and inclusive development for the municipality.
