A legal dispute over an unpaid debt has resulted in a Ghanaian court granting UK-based Cola Holdings Limited possession of Nana Kwame Bediako’s prominent No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel in Osu, Accra.

Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, serves as a director of Kensington Residential Partners 1 Limited, the entity linked to the hotel. The Commercial Division of the High Court in Accra, presided over by Justice Samuel Faraday Johnson, issued the order on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

The court granted Cola Holdings and its appointed Receiver in Ghana, Nii Amanor Dodoo, a warrant of police assistance to take control of the striking white building located next to Dankwa Circle. This followed the company’s application after failed attempts to secure peaceful possession of the property.

Kensington Residential Partners 1 Limited, through director Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar), opposed the application. However, the court dismissed the opposition and ruled in favour of Cola Holdings.

The ruling stems from a debt allegedly owed by the Ghanaian company to the UK firm. The imposing hotel, known for its aesthetic appeal, now falls under the control of the creditors following the court’s decision.

This development marks a significant setback for the businessman and politician, as the property is one of the notable landmarks on Oxford Street in the bustling Osu area.
