Ernest Nuamah was being pressured to sign for Fulham

In the wake of French football commentator Hugo Guillemet’s revelation that Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah and his camp were opposed to moving from French side Olympique Lyon to English Premier League side Fulham, additional reports have confirmed the situation.
France-based journalist Matt Spiro has reported that Nuamah was pressured into signing the deal and was so distressed by the situation that he broke down in tears during his medicals.
Spiro, a presenter at beIN Sports, also mentioned that Nuamah went missing after the medicals, leading to an apology from Lyon owner John Textor.

Transfer deal and collapse
On August 30, 2024, the final day of the main transfer window, news emerged that Fulham and Lyon had reached an agreement for Nuamah’s transfer to England for a fee of 15 million pounds, including add-ons.
However, Italian football insider Fabrizio Romano later reported that the deal collapsed due to unspecified “issues.”

Current situation
Nuamah is currently nursing an injury, which has ruled him out of contention for a call-up to the Black Stars for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers scheduled for this month.
