The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for private candidates.

A statement issued and signed by John K. Kapi, Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, said the Council had, however, withheld the results of three candidates.

This is pending further investigations due to their involvement in cases of irregularity.

“The results are available on the Council’s official website at www.waecgh.org for candidates to access them online,” the statement said.

It noted that candidates whose results had been cancelled or withheld should visit http://irreg.waecgh.org and click on the withheld /cancelled button on the home page.

“They will be redirected to the irregularity and investigations page.”

“This page will display reasons for withholding or cancelling the results. For withheld results, the candidates will receive information on the next line of action.”

WAEC cautioned all stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade their results for a fee, adding: “candidates are to note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated.”

The Council expressed appreciation to stakeholders, especially the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, security agencies, heads of schools, supervisors/invigilators, examiners and all who in diverse ways supported it in the successful conduct of the examination and release of results.

A total of 1,661 candidates, comprising 858 males and 803 females, entered for the private examination, which was conducted at 15 centres across the country.

Out of the total number, 33 candidates were absent, the statement said.
