We need to prepare for WAFCON – Coach Bjorkegren

Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, newly appointed Head Coach for the Senior Women’s Football team, says the team must be ready and prepare for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Speaking during his unveiling ceremony at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters, the Swedish tactician admitted that there were challenges but with teamwork they would achieve their goal.
He said, “there are things you can control and there are things you cannot control.
“And it is same in a football game, sometimes you are having a difficult day, but you just make sure that it is not happening in the tournament. We need to make sure that we are ready and prepared when the tournament starts.”
He expressed his profound gratitude to the GFA for the opportunity to serve.
He said, “I’m grateful that I’m going to be part of a great country, the most important thing for me is to visit my players in their respective clubs to watch and help them to improves their skills.”
Mr. Gideon Fosu, an Executive Council Member at the GFA, expressed confidence in the newly appointed coach.
He said, “as far as the women team is concern, we are also going to print the name of another coach in the nation.
“Women’s football has been a progressive journey and Coach Kim went through a rigorous exercise before his selection.”
In attendance were Executive Council Members Gideon Fosu and Samuel Aboabire.
They were joined by the General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Technical Director, Professor Joseph Mintah, and Assistance coach Anita Wiredu Mintah.
