Oil Marketing Company PETROSOL has dismissed circulating social media claims alleging its involvement in the illegal sale of premix fuel and the diversion of marine gas oil (MGO) into the regular fuel market.

In a statement, the company addressed a video posted by Okatakyei Afrifa on March 1, 2026, which falsely suggested that PETROSOL Platinum Energy was among the companies cited by the Office of the Special Prosecutor for selling premix fuel as petrol and diverting MGO for sale as regular gas oil.

PETROSOL clarified that the allegations are inaccurate and emphasised that it is not listed in the Special Prosecutor’s recent disclosure regarding the alleged fuel diversion scheme.

“For the record, PETROSOL is not listed in the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s recent release and has never engaged in such practices. We have contacted Afrifa directly to request a retraction,” the company stated.

The company further assured customers and industry stakeholders that it strictly complies with all regulatory standards and industry best practices in the downstream petroleum sector.
