The newly appointed Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq, has pledged to spearhead a transformative agenda for Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector.
Addressing the management and staff of the NPA in Accra on Monday, Mr. Tameklo emphasized his commitment to aligning with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for the industry.
“President Mahama has charged us with the need for a new approach. It is not going to be business as usual,” Mr. Tameklo stated.
He vowed to lead with fairness, collaboration, and a focus on the welfare of NPA staff, highlighting teamwork as the cornerstone of his leadership philosophy.
Call for Cooperation
Urging staff to support the Authority’s mandate, Mr. Tameklo stressed the importance of collective effort. “In the spirit of cooperation, let’s work together to make the Authority the very best,” he stated.
NPA Welfare Chairman, Mr. Ernest Ayeh-Datey, congratulated Mr. Tameklo on his appointment and assured him of the staff’s commitment to working together for the success of the Authority.
A Distinguished career
Mr. Tameklo brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. A legal professional with over a decade of experience, he holds an LLM in Natural Resources (Downstream Petroleum) from the University of Ghana and was called to the Ghana Bar in 2013 after completing the Professional Law Course at the Ghana School of Law.
As a Partner at Ayine & Partners Law Firm, Mr. Tameklo has specialized in criminal, civil, and commercial litigation. His legal acumen has earned him a reputation for delivering sound legal opinions and strategic counsel to diverse organizations.
Proven leadership
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Tameklo has demonstrated outstanding leadership capabilities.
He has served as the Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and contributed to key committees, including the 2024/2025 Transition Sub-Committee for Legal and Governance and the 2024 NDC Manifesto Committee.
Renowned for his strong research, analytical, and interpersonal skills, Mr. Tameklo is described as a self-driven, open-minded, and collaborative leader.
