MTN Ghana has announced significant reductions in the prices of its fibre broadband packages, alongside the introduction of new high-speed internet options, in a move aimed at making broadband services more affordable and accessible to customers across the country.

The revised tariffs, which take effect from Wednesday, June 17, 2026, represent one of the most substantial adjustments to the company’s fibre broadband pricing in recent years.

Under the new pricing structure, the cost of MTN Ghana’s 100 Mbps unlimited monthly fibre package has been slashed from GH¢987 to GH¢299, offering customers a considerable reduction in their monthly internet expenses.

In addition to the price cut, the telecommunications provider has introduced two new unlimited broadband packages. Customers can now subscribe to a 300 Mbps unlimited fibre package for GH¢444 per month, while those seeking even faster internet speeds can opt for a 500 Mbps unlimited package at GH¢999 monthly.

The announcement has been welcomed by the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, who described the development as a response to public concerns about broadband costs.

In a statement shared on social media, the Minister said: “You demanded. We engaged. MTN Ghana has responded.”

According to George, the revised pricing follows engagements between the Ministry and MTN Ghana regarding the affordability and reliability of fibre broadband services. He expressed appreciation to the management of MTN Ghana for responding positively to the Ministry’s request to review broadband tariffs.

The Minister further indicated that the government would continue discussions with telecommunications operators to improve service quality and ensure more competitive pricing across the sector.

The reduction in fibre broadband prices comes amid growing public calls for more affordable digital services, with consumers and businesses increasingly relying on high-speed internet for work, education, communication and entertainment.
