Margins ID Group has extended warm congratulations to the National Identification Authority (NIA) on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of partnership in strengthening identity, trust, and national development in Ghana.
In a statement, Margins ID Group noted that the milestone reflects the remarkable progress made through the collaboration between the NIA and the private sector in delivering Ghana’s national identification system.
“As partners in the public-private partnership delivering Ghana’s national identification system, we celebrate the Authority’s role in building a secure foundation for access, inclusion, and national progress,” the statement said.
Margins highlighted Ghana’s success in building one of Africa’s most advanced interoperable digital identity ecosystems through the Ghana Card project.
Through Identity Management Systems II (IMS II), a subsidiary of Margins ID Group, the company said it played a central role in conceptualising, designing, and operationalising the technological backbone of Ghana’s national identity infrastructure.
According to the statement, what began as a national ID programme has evolved into a major digital public infrastructure platform integrated across banking, telecommunications, healthcare, taxation, transport regulation, financial inclusion systems, and public service delivery.
The statement further noted that the Ghana Card ecosystem now supports millions of identity verifications daily and has become central to Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance, mobile money interoperability, banking services, and Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Margins ID Group added that Ghana’s identity infrastructure is increasingly being recognised internationally as one of the most successful examples of an African-designed and African-operated digital identity system functioning effectively at a national scale.
“From FinTech innovation to interoperable identity systems and digital public infrastructure, Ghana is increasingly positioning itself as a continental leader in trusted digital transformation,” the statement added.
