In line with Article 74 (1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned 18 newly appointed envoys of Ghana at a swearing-in ceremony held at the Jubilee House, Accra.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in Ghana’s foreign policy and diplomatic relations, as the newly designated ambassadors and high commissioners are expected to represent Ghana’s interests across the globe, strengthen bilateral ties, and promote trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

  3. Ms. Mavis Ama Frimpong – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of France

  4. Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed – High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria

  5. Koma-Steem Jehu Appiah – Ambassador-designate to the Russian Federation

  6. Kojo Bonsu – Ambassador-designate to the People’s Republic of China

  7. Alhaji Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali – Ambassador-designate to the United Arab Emirates

  8. Prof. Ohene Adjei – Ambassador-designate to the Federal Republic of Germany

  9. Alhaji Abdul Nasiru-Deen – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Türkiye

  10. Dr. Margaret Miewien Chebere – Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Denmark

  11. Labik Joseph Yaani – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea

  12. Nii Amasah Namoale – Ambassador-designate to the Federative Republic of Brazil

Addressing the newly appointed envoys, President John Mahama emphasised that their appointments were a testament to the confidence reposed in their years of service to Ghana. He urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, and prudent use of public resources in the discharge of their duties.

Highlighting Ghana’s Reset Agenda, the President noted that the envoys are vanguards of Ghana’s economic diplomacy, tasked with strengthening bilateral relations, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving trade and investment opportunities to accelerate Ghana’s development.

Speaking on behalf of the envoys, Victor Emmanuel Smith, Ambassador-designate to the United States of America, expressed gratitude to the President for the trust and confidence placed in them.

He assured that the team of envoys would uphold the highest ideals of diplomacy and work tirelessly to put Ghana first in their respective missions.
