Mahama appoints three Deputy Comptrollers-General for GIS

Deputy Comptrollers-General for Ghana Immigration Service

President John Dramani Mahama has approved the confirmation of three Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), officially elevating them from acting roles to substantive positions.

The decision follows recommendations from the GIS Governing Council, with the advice of the Public Services Commission, as part of efforts to strengthen leadership within the Service and enhance operational efficiency across its departments.

The newly confirmed Deputy Comptrollers-General are Evelyn Lolonyo Lotsu, Faisal Disu, and Philip Peter Andoh. Each has been assigned key leadership responsibilities within the organisation.

Evelyn Lolonyo Lotsu will head the Finance and Administration Directorate, where she is expected to oversee financial management and administrative operations. Faisal Disu has been appointed to lead the Command Post and Operations Directorate, a critical unit responsible for coordinating field operations and border management activities.

Philip Peter Andoh will oversee the Legal, Research and Monitoring Directorate, providing direction on legal affairs, policy research, and institutional oversight.

According to the Ghana Immigration Service, the confirmations reflect recognition of the officers’ dedication, leadership qualities, and long-standing contributions to the Service. Their elevation is also seen as part of ongoing reforms aimed at improving governance and strengthening national security operations.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Samuel Basintale Amadu, congratulated the three officers on their new appointments and praised their professionalism and commitment to duty.

He expressed confidence that they would bring renewed energy to their respective directorates and help advance the strategic objectives of the Service.

He further assured them of the full support of GIS management as they assume their substantive roles and contribute to national development and security.
