Lilwin’s ‘A Country Called Ghana’ movie set for premiering

The highly anticipated premiere of the collaborative film “A Country Called Ghana” is set to captivate audiences at the National Theatre on Friday, May 17, 2024.
This Ghanaian-Nigerian film project brings together top talents from both countries to entertain and enlighten viewers about the importance of preserving cultural heritage. Directed by Fiifi Ghabin and produced by Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, the movie (Country Called Ghana) features a stellar cast including Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu (known as ‘Awilo Sharp Sharp’), Paa George, and Sweet Mimi, among others.
With the Nigerian cast scheduled to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, May 15, anticipation has been building regarding the movie’s quality and storyline. Lilwin expressed confidence in the movie’s concept and assured that its quality would meet Netflix standards.
Substantial investment, totaling millions of cedis, has been poured into the production, underscoring Lilwin’s commitment to reviving the local movie industry, particularly the renowned “Kumawood.”
Lilwin is optimistic about the premiere’s success, not only in Accra but also at subsequent events at the KNUST CCB Auditorium in Kumasi on May 25 and the Eubsett Hotel in Sunyani on June 1, 2024.
Set in a small Ghanaian village, the storyline revolves around Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, the only literate individual in town, amidst the arrival of foreigners led by Ramsey Nouah. The foreign mission, in collaboration with Lilwin, seeks to take a precious asset from the land back to their country. Will their mission succeed? Audiences are in for an enthralling serial drama.
