KNUST declares 2 former students persona non grata

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has declared two former students, Ransford Fosu-Boateng (alias Scammer Baby) and Raphael Appiah Owusu, as persona non grata on its campus.
This decision follows persistent unlawful infiltration of residential halls the two individuals, as well as disruptive conduct, harassment of students, and acts of indiscipline that compromise campus security and order.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office, Fosu-Boateng was dismissed from KNUST on March 21, 2022, while Appiah Owusu’s dismissal took effect at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year.
Despite their dismissal, the University states that both individuals have continued to trespass on University grounds.
In a recent incident, the two were reportedly identified as participants in an unlawful assembly that resulted in vandalism and destruction of University property.
Their involvement was confirmed through the University’s CCTV surveillance systems.
In a press release issued on Friday, the University Management stressed that Fosu-Boateng and Appiah Owusu are no longer students and are strictly prohibited from accessing or loitering within any part of the University premises.
They have been declared ‘persona non grata’ and will be treated as trespassers if found on campus.
The University further issued a strong caution to all current students, urging them to refrain from associating with the declared individuals.
They warned that any student found aiding, abetting, or facilitating their access to University facilities will face severe disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the University’s regulations.
The University has urged the campus security and the University community to be vigilant and report any sightings of the two former students.
