Judicial Secretary appeals to JUSAG to call off strike

The Management of the Judicial Service has appealed to the leadership and members of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) to call off their strike and resume work while negotiations over the 2026 salary review impasse continue.
In a press release issued on Saturday, October 31, Management acknowledged staff frustrations over the disagreement and assured them that their concerns were being treated with the seriousness they deserved.
It said it was engaged in high-level, good-faith negotiations with relevant government stakeholders to secure a fair and sustainable resolution that recognised the contributions of Judicial Service employees.
Management commended staff for their resilience and commitment, stressing that every employee, from the registry to the courtroom, played an indispensable role in the administration of justice.
It urged JUSAG members to consider the broader national interest and return to work, warning that the disruption of court operations had serious consequences for citizens, particularly vulnerable people, accused persons, families and others seeking justice or redress.
The continued absence of staff, it said, could undermine access to justice and the protection of citizens’ rights, while disrupting services relied upon to maintain social order.
Management also reminded employees of their constitutional obligations to the people of Ghana, in whose name justice is administered, emphasising that their presence was critical to uninterrupted court services.
It reiterated its commitment to resolving the impasse as quickly and equitably as possible and called for continued cooperation between staff and management, urging employees to place the needs of the public and their responsibility to serve at the centre of efforts to resolve the dispute.
