GoldBod clinches SOE of the Year Title at PELT Awards
GoldBod wins SOE Awards
The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has been crowned State-Owned Enterprise of the Year at the prestigious Public Enterprise League Table (PELT) Awards, securing a remarkable triple victory that underscores its rising influence in Ghana’s economic landscape.
In addition to the top honour, GoldBod was also named Overall Best Specified Entity and Most Profitable State-Owned Enterprise, marking one of the most dominant performances by a public institution at the awards in recent years.
Leadership pledges stronger performance
Receiving the awards on behalf of the Board, Richard Nunekpeku expressed appreciation to the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) for the recognition, describing the achievement as a significant milestone in the organisation’s growth trajectory.
“We are proud of this milestone, but we remain focused and determined to keep pushing harder to exceed our targets and deliver even greater results,” he said.
He emphasised that while the recognition affirms GoldBod’s progress, management remains committed to sustaining momentum and delivering improved outcomes.
Awards boost confidence in gold sector reforms
GoldBod’s triple win is expected to strengthen stakeholder confidence in its operations, particularly as the institution continues to play a central role in Ghana’s mineral resource governance and economic development agenda.
The recognition also highlights the organisation’s growing impact in driving reforms within the gold sector, with a focus on transparency, value retention, and sustainable resource management.
PELT Awards promote accountability and excellence
The annual PELT Awards, organised by SIGA, assess the performance of state-owned enterprises and specified entities across the country.
The initiative aims to promote efficiency, accountability, and excellence within Ghana’s public sector.

Over the years, the awards have evolved into a key benchmark for evaluating institutional performance, while reinforcing the principles of good corporate governance across state entities.
Other institutions recognised for excellence
Several other institutions were also honoured at the event for outstanding performance in various categories.
The Consolidated Bank Ghana was named Most Innovative State-Owned Enterprise, while TDC Ghana Limited received the award for Most Compliant SOE.
The Environmental Protection Agency emerged as Other State Entity of the Year and also took the award for Most Financially Sustainable Other State Entity.
Other winners included the Ghana Maritime Authority as Most Innovative Other State Entity, the Food and Drugs Authority as Most Compliant Other State Entity, and the Ghana Highway Authority as Most Efficient Other State Entity.
In the dividend performance categories, Ghana Reinsurance PLC was recognised as Most Consistent Dividend Paying SOE (Quantum), while TDC Ghana was also honoured as Most Consistent Dividend Paying SOE (Frequency).
The strong showing by multiple institutions at this year’s awards reflects ongoing efforts to improve performance, transparency, and financial discipline across Ghana’s state enterprise sector.
