Authorities have arrested the bursar of Ghanata Senior High School (SHS), Lamisi Sarah, over allegations that food supplies meant for students were being diverted.

Confirming the development, the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, said credible information gathered in recent weeks pointed to the alleged diversion of food items intended to support students’ welfare and nutrition.

She described the incident as troubling and a serious breach of public trust, noting that the provisions were meant to guarantee proper nourishment for students.

Ms. Ocloo stated that upon receiving the complaints, she notified the constituency’s National Security to undertake a discreet investigation. During a visit to the area on Tuesday, February 17, the allegations were confirmed, and the bursar was apprehended.

“I directed the officers to hand her over to the Police so that due process can take its full course under the law,” she said.

Further investigations are underway.
