Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has rallied support for Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup clash against Panama.

In a message of encouragement, the Vice President expressed confidence in the team’s ability to make the nation proud, emphasising that millions of Ghanaians are firmly behind the players as they prepare for the important Group L encounter.

“Ghana is rooting for you, regardless of where you are, whether in the diaspora, on farms, or at home. The whole country is behind you,” she said.

The Black Stars enter the match seeking a positive result to strengthen their position in the tournament and boost their chances of advancing to the next stage. The fixture is expected to be fiercely contested, with both sides eager to secure maximum points.

“You heard about the term group work, and I think that is part of the cooperation in sports. Regardless of what your strength is, you become even stronger when you play with somebody else. If in the process, you make someone else even stronger, we succeed even more.”
