The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagba, has strongly condemned recent disruptions in Parliament, accusing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating chaos to destabilize the government.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Ahiagba claimed the NDC’s actions are part of a deliberate strategy to undermine the NPP’s authority ahead of the 2024 general elections.
According to Ahiagba, the NPP has uncovered a detailed NDC strategy document outlining plans to use parliamentary disruptions to erode public confidence in the government.
He stated that the document, reportedly authored by senior NDC operatives, contains a multi-pronged approach to exploit every parliamentary session, incite public tension, and create a false narrative of governmental failure.
Ahiagba further accused the NDC of using social media to spread misinformation, aiming to paint a picture of despair and hopelessness regarding the country’s economic challenges.
He called on the NDC to engage in constructive political conduct, urging them to prioritize the nation’s interests over disruptive tactics.
The NPP Director of Communications also appealed to the public and media to remain vigilant against the NDC’s alleged attempts to manipulate public opinion, emphasizing the NPP’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
