The Ministry of National Security has firmly refuted social media rumors alleging that the Minister for National Security, Albert Kan-Dapaah, has been kidnapped.
In an official statement, the Ministry labeled the claims as “false, baseless, and without merit,” urging the public to dismiss such misinformation.
The statement emphasized that the allegations are unfounded and should not be taken seriously.
Warning against misinformation
Expressing concern over the circulation of unverified information, the Ministry warned individuals behind such fabrications to desist from actions that could erode public trust and compromise national security.
“The Ministry remains committed to its mandate of ensuring the security and well-being of all Ghanaians,” the statement assured, reaffirming its dedication to safeguarding the nation.
Addressing public concerns
This clarification comes amidst increasing anxiety over the damaging effects of misinformation, which has the potential to incite unnecessary panic and undermine confidence in state institutions.
The Ministry called on the public to support efforts to combat the spread of falsehoods and to rely on verified sources of information for updates on national security matters.
As the Ministry continues to uphold its responsibility to protect Ghana, it reiterated the importance of maintaining public trust and urged citizens to act responsibly in sharing information.
