Kamaldeen Sulemana’s potential transfer from Southampton to Ajax Amsterdam remains uncertain as the transfer situation is expected to be resolved later today.
Dutch football media personality Mike Verweij reports that Ajax’s transfer paperwork was submitted very late in the recently closed transfer window.
The documents are now pending FIFA approval before the deal can be finalized.
Agreement and past performance
Sulemana has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Ajax and is keen on joining the Dutch club.
If the transfer is completed, it will mark the end of Sulemana’s underwhelming stint at Southampton, where he joined from Stade Rennes in the French Ligue 1.
During his time in the Premier League, Sulemana scored twice and registered an assist in 18 games.
He has not featured in any of Southampton’s three matches for the 2024-2025 season due to injury. In the previous season, Sulemana spent the campaign in the EFL Championship.
