Dr. Samuel Kwadwo Frimpong, a Technical Economic Advisor at the office of the Vice-President, has officially declared his bid to contest the Asante Akyem North Constituency seat in the upcoming 2024 elections.
The announcement came during Dr. Frimpong’s birthday celebration at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, where a fan group, “Friends of Dr. Frimpong,” enthusiastically endorsed his candidacy by picking the nomination form on his behalf.
Surrounded by children on admission at the hospital, the heartwarming setting served as the backdrop for Dr. Frimpong’s commitment to enter the political arena.
The Friends of Dr. Frimpong group expressed confidence in his leadership and support for his candidacy as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate in the fiercely contested Asante Akyem North Constituency.
Addressing the media, Dr. Frimpong expressed gratitude for the group’s endorsement and acknowledged the imperative to address the decline in NPP’s support compared to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) within the constituency.
He emphasized his determination to contribute to the party’s efforts to secure victory in the 2024 elections.
The NPP in Asante Akyem North Constituency faced internal disunity after the parliamentary primaries, leading to the NDC candidate securing an unprecedented 36.1% of the votes during the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Dr. Frimpong, recognized for his philanthropic endeavors, humility, and contributions to the constituency’s development, outlined his campaign’s focus on health, agriculture, and job creation for the youth.
He pledged to provide skills training, advocate for developmental projects, and collaborate with chiefs and opinion leaders to bring progress to the constituency.
Beyond the political landscape, Dr. Frimpong showcased his compassionate side during the birthday celebration at the hospital.
He dined with the children and covered the hospital bills for a detained child who tragically lost the mother and twin at birth. Additionally, Dr. Frimpong arranged accommodation for the child’s grandmother near the hospital, ensuring the baby receives the necessary care.
As Dr. Samuel Kwadwo Frimpong enters the political fray, his candidacy holds the promise of a blend of leadership, compassion, and commitment to the well-being and development of the Asante Akyem North Constituency.
The 2024 elections will be closely watched as he endeavors to usher in a new era of progress and unity through his Restoration Agenda.
