Mr Fiifi Boafo, spokesperson for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh—known widely as NAPO and the running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia—has urged Ghanaians to support the Bawumia-NAPO ticket in the upcoming election.
He emphasized the pair’s exceptional track record in government, calling them the ideal leaders to steer Ghana through its current challenges.
A record of achievement and transformation
Mr Boafo pointed out that Dr Bawumia’s time as Vice-President has been transformative, with accomplishments that, he argued, stand out in the history of Ghanaian politics.
“Dr. Bawumia has introduced initiatives that have tangibly improved the lives of ordinary Ghanaians,” he stated adding that “his work over the last eight years truly stands out.”
Mr Boafo credited Dr Bawumia with implementing 35 key initiatives that, he claimed, have addressed critical challenges faced by Ghanaians, especially in the areas of digital infrastructure, healthcare, and economic reforms.
He highlighted Bawumia’s character, calling him “unwavering in his dedication, intelligence, and incorruptibility.”
He described Bawumia as a leader whose integrity and focus make him uniquely qualified to guide the country forward.
NAPO’s impact on education and energy
Turning to NAPO’s achievements, Mr Boafo celebrated his efforts in education and energy, contrasting them with the record of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice-Presidential candidate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman.
He cited landmark initiatives led by NAPO, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy and the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education.
Additionally, Mr Boafo praised NAPO’s efforts to shift classroom resources from chalkboards to modern marker boards and to reinstate allowances for trainee teachers.
In the energy sector, he credited NAPO with addressing the persistent power outages, or “dumsor,” that had affected Ghanaians’ lives and the nation’s economy.
A proven track record of results
For Boafo, the Bawumia-NAPO ticket represents a combination of economic reforms and practical advancements in sectors like education and energy.
“The world is going through financial challenges, and now more than ever, Ghana needs achievers with a proven track record,” he remarked. “Bawumia and NAPO have shown they can deliver the bold solutions needed for our times.”
Mr Boafo urged voters to prioritize leadership with demonstrated results, stating that Dr Bawumia and NAPO have the vision, capability, and resolve to lead Ghana into a prosperous future.
