Lawyer for former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Samuel Atta Akyea, has denied reports that he has withdrawn from the ongoing case involving his client.

Atta Akyea, in a statement dated September 10, 2026, described the reports circulating on social media as “wretched and vile propaganda”, insisting that he remains committed to the defence of Mr Adu-Boahene.

“My attention has been drawn to some wretched and vile propaganda circulating on social media that I have abandoned my clients,” he said.

He explained that the reports appeared to have followed a dispute over a document presented by the defence, which the prosecution has alleged to be fake.

Atta Akyea rejected the claim, noting that the document in question was admitted into evidence without objection before Justice Francis Apangabuno Achibanga, who is sitting as an additional High Court judge.

“I cannot abandon or disown my client,” he said, while disclosing that the defence team was working on a “very solid and credible submission of no case”.

The lawyer further stressed that the defence would continue to contest the allegations through the appropriate legal process.

He argued that the dispute over the evidence should be resolved in court, rather than through public commentary and social media.

“Kwabena Adu-Boahene’s case was launched on the platform of media trial, where lies sell. The court is the forum where evidence and law should settle vexed matters,” he said.

Adu-Boahene, Angela Adjei Boateng and Advantage Solutions Ltd. are currently facing prosecution in the case, with their lawyers continuing to challenge the allegations.

Atta Akyea expressed confidence that the defence would make a strong submission of no case, describing the allegations against his client as “sordid”.
