The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the successful completion of its constituency executive elections in 245 out of the party’s 276 constituencies, recording an 88.7 per cent success rate as it continues the reorganisation of its grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a statement issued by the General Secretary, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party said the elections were conducted peacefully and successfully across the majority of constituencies nationwide.

According to the party, elections in 23 constituencies were put on hold due to various disputes that emerged during the electoral process.

The statement also disclosed that four constituencies—Ningo Prampram, Atwima Mponua, Obuasi West and Trobu—were unable to hold their elections because of last-minute challenges.

In addition, the NPP’s National Steering Committee is expected to review electoral activities in four constituencies—Afigya Sekyere East, Adansi Asokwa, Bantama and Asante Akyem Central—to determine the appropriate course of action following issues that arose during the exercise.

Mr Kodua Frimpong assured party members that the National Secretariat remained committed to resolving all outstanding disputes and ensuring the successful completion of the constituency executive elections in the affected areas.

He expressed appreciation to party members, delegates and stakeholders for their commitment, discipline and support throughout the exercise.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to all Patriots for their commitment, discipline and support, which contributed to the successful conduct of these elections,” the statement said.

The constituency executive elections form part of the NPP’s internal reorganisation process aimed at strengthening its structures from the grassroots as the party prepares for future national elections.

The party is expected to conclude the remaining constituency elections once the outstanding disputes and logistical challenges have been resolved.
