Thousands of residents across parts of the Greater Accra Region are expected to experience temporary water supply interruptions or reduced water pressure on Thursday, July 9, 2026, as Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) undertakes scheduled maintenance works at the Dodowa Booster Station.

According to GWL, the booster station will be shut down for 24 hours to enable its engineering team to carry out maintenance aimed at improving the operational efficiency, reliability and long-term sustainability of the water supply system.

The utility company said communities served by the Dodowa Booster Station would be affected throughout the maintenance period.

The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa and all adjoining communities supplied by the station.

GWL has advised residents and businesses in the affected communities to store enough water ahead of the planned shutdown and use available supplies judiciously during the maintenance period.

The company assured customers that its engineers would work diligently to complete the exercise within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately after the maintenance works are completed.

Management of GWL expressed regret over the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause and appealed to customers for patience, understanding and cooperation, stressing that the maintenance is necessary to enhance the reliability and quality of water service delivery.
