President John Dramani Mahama has put forward Pamela Graham as Auditor-General, subject to consultation with the Council of State.

The nomination, announced by the Secretary to the President, follows Article 70(1)(b) of the 1992 Constitution, which requires the Council’s advice before a final appointment is made.

The move is seen as part of efforts to reinforce financial accountability and rebuild trust in key state institutions.

Graham brings extensive expertise in auditing, public financial management, and governance, backed by a reputation for professionalism and integrity.

The Auditor-General is a key figure in Ghana’s accountability system, responsible for auditing public accounts and ensuring adherence to financial laws across government institutions.

The Council of State is expected to consider the nomination soon and provide its guidance. If confirmed, she will replace Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, who has held the position since September 2021.
