The Ghana Police Service in Yendi has arrested a man and a woman for allegedly impersonating Sharaf Mahama, son of President John Dramani Mahama, on the social media platform TikTok.
Police reports indicate that the suspects created a fake account under the name “Sheriff Mahama,” which they allegedly used for personal purposes while posing as the President’s son. The account reportedly attracted over 7,500 followers and thousands of likes.
The male suspect has been identified as Abdul Rahaman Zakaria, while investigations continue to establish the full extent of the female suspect’s involvement.

Authorities say the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to combat online impersonation and other cyber-related offences.
The suspects remain in police custody and are cooperating with investigators. They are expected to be presented before the court in due course.
