The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 has set a new benchmark for African football, recording an unprecedented 6 billion digital views across social media platforms, marking it as the most-watched continental tournament in history.

A key driver of this record-breaking performance was the African Diaspora, with millions of new audiences engaging with AFCON content from across the globe.

Fans not only watched the games but actively interacted, producing 285 million engagements that highlighted the tournament’s emotional resonance and cultural impact.

TikTok emerged as a central hub for fan participation, with over one million videos created under the hashtag #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025.

From creative goal celebrations and tactical analyses to music, humour, and fashion inspired by the tournament, supporters turned social media into a virtual stadium that brought players, teams, and fans closer than ever before.

“This is more than a football tournament; it’s a cultural movement,” a CAF spokesperson said.

“Fans have become co-creators, sharing their experiences in real time and amplifying African football on a global scale.”

The digital surge reflected a shift in how football is consumed, with content travelling rapidly across borders, languages, and cultures.

CAF emphasised that this success underscores its commitment to innovation, fan engagement, and expanding Africa’s footprint on the global football stage.

From breathtaking goals to behind-the-scenes access, TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 has not only celebrated African football but also redefined its global presence, turning the tournament into a truly worldwide spectacle.
