The Agape Power Ministry at Anyaa in Accra on Sunday crowned its week-long 25th anniversary celebrations with a thanksgiving service, marking a significant milestone in the life of the church and its contribution to spiritual growth and community development.

The service, held on Sunday, drew a cross-section of congregants, invited ministers of the gospel and well-wishers who gathered to reflect on a journey defined by faith, resilience and service.

It was a moment of gratitude for what church leaders described as God’s sustaining mercy over a quarter of a century.

The Member of Parliament for the Anyaa–Sowutuom Constituency, Hon Emmanuel Tobin, graced the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.

In a brief solidarity message, he congratulated the leadership and members of the church for reaching what he described as a worthy milestone in the life of any organisation.

Hon. Tobin said 25 years of continuous ministry was evidence of commitment, discipline and divine guidance.

He expressed appreciation for the impact the Agape Power Ministry had made in the lives of individuals and within the wider society, particularly in shaping moral values and promoting social responsibility.

He charged the church to remain focused on its core mandate of preaching the gospel, building lives and serving the community.

According to him, churches that remain true to their calling play a critical role in national development by nurturing responsible citizens.

The MP said he was honoured to be part of such a historic occasion and expressed optimism that the church would continue to grow steadily and expand its influence.

He encouraged the leadership to deepen its outreach and sustain the values that had guided the ministry over the years.

The guest preacher for the service was the Leader and Head Pastor of Resurrection Power Expectation Ministry, Reverend Appau Baffour.

He delivered a sermon based on the anniversary theme, “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” drawing inspiration from Lamentations 3:22–23.

In his message, Rev Baffour emphasised loyalty and obedience as essential virtues in Christian discipleship. He cited the biblical account of Ruth to illustrate how faithfulness and submission to God’s will could open doors to lasting success and divine favour.

He spoke extensively about the mercy of God as the foundation of hope for a glorious future. Quoting from 1 Peter 2:10, he reminded the congregation that the journey of the church over the past 25 years was made possible by God’s mercy and not by human effort alone.

“Twenty-five years in the life of the church has been achieved by the mercy of God,” he said, adding that with hope anchored in God’s faithfulness, there was no reason to fear the future. According to him, the same God who made provisions in the past remained in control of what lay ahead.

Rev Baffour assured the congregation that God’s eye was still on the Agape Power Ministry and that divine mercy would continue to make a way where challenges appeared insurmountable.

He referenced the experience of the Apostle Peter, noting that despite obstacles encountered at the end of his ministry, God’s mercy ensured that all his needs were met.

He encouraged members of the church to abandon excuses, embrace humility under the lordship of Christ and maintain a spirit of gratitude at all times.

He said thanksgiving was not only an expression of appreciation but also a powerful act of faith that positioned believers for greater blessings.

The Head Pastor of the Agape Power Ministry, Reverend Chris Anim, also took the opportunity to reflect on the church’s journey. He thanked God for His mercies, which he said had carried the ministry from very humble beginnings to its present state.
