Media personality with Channel 1 TV/ Citi fm and gender advocate Chris Kata has launched a new podcast series titled “16 Days, 16 Voices,” aimed at amplifying the voices of survivors and sparking dialogue around gender-based violence (GBV) in Ghana and beyond.

The project, produced under the Heal and Chill Foundation and powered by Signal.co, is part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which runs annually from November 25 to December 10. This year’s global theme, “End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” highlights the growing forms of abuse women face both online and offline.

“16 Days, 16 Voices” brings together 16 unique stories from survivors, gender advocates, psychologists, legal experts, healthcare providers, and policy influencers to explore the hidden layers of gender-based violence and its lasting effects on individuals and communities.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the project, Chris Kata shared that the series was born from her own lived experiences and the stories of women she has encountered.

“This project was born out of my own experience and the experiences of women I know, stories that are often silenced or ignored,” she said. “With 16 Days, 16 Voices, we are creating space for truth-telling, healing, and change. Silence only protects the abuser, never the survivor.”

Through compelling conversations and personal testimonies, the podcast seeks to challenge harmful social norms, encourage empathy, and inspire policy change. The series will also spotlight the importance of holding systems accountable for the protection and empowerment of women and girls.

Each episode from a total of 16 episodes will be released periodically throughout and after the campaign period, with full episodes available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and social media platforms. The campaign will be accompanied by short video clips, awareness content, and advocacy messages to sustain daily engagement during the 16 days.

The Heal and Chill Foundation, founded by Kata, works to promote healing, advocacy, and empowerment for survivors of gender-based violence and trauma. Signal.co serves as the power partner supporting the production and amplification.

“We hope this series becomes more than just a podcast, that it becomes a movement. One that turns pain into purpose, and stories into change,” Kata added.

Listeners and viewers can follow the campaign on social media using the hashtags #16Days16Voices #16DaysOfActivism #EndGBV #OrangeTheWorld #EndDigitalViolence.
