A man lost his life at midday on Friday, September 26, 2025, after being run over by a truck in an accident at Alajo Junction in Accra.

The truck, with registration number GS 4295-21, reportedly struck the victim with its left rear tyres.

Witness accounts suggest the man may have been riding a motorcycle and attempted to overtake the truck before being knocked down.

He became trapped beneath the vehicle and was dragged several meters before the truck eventually stopped.

The accident caused heavy traffic congestion, stretching from the Abeka Junction traffic light past the Police Training Academy at Tesano and towards the Alajo traffic light.

Police officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, manage traffic, and begin investigations. They also made arrangements to move the body to the morgue.

Reports by Graphic Online stated that at around 12:50 p.m. on September 26, 2025, the victim’s body was still pinned under the truck.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, a tragic road accident on the Yamoransa to Cape Coast highway has left one person dead and 18 others injured, authorities report.

The crash occurred early Tuesday morning, causing chaos and drawing emergency responders to the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident involved a Mercedes Sprinter bus with registration number CR 624-25, heading towards Cape Coast, that collided with a stationary Man Diesel truck (WR 1546-V) parked in front of the NDC regional office.

One of the victims was confirmed dead on the spot.

The remaining 18 passengers sustained varying degrees of injury and were transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Emergency services from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quickly arrived at the scene, transporting the injured to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Traffic on the highway was temporarily halted, causing significant delays for commuters.

Road accidents remain a significant concern on Ghanaian highways, with experts attributing many fatalities to speeding, reckless driving, and poorly maintained roads.

Authorities continue to call on motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.
