His achievement at the McNabb Sprint Series, where he finished first in the finals, puts him 17th on the official men’s 100m qualification list for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Azamati now holds four of Ghana’s nine wind-legal sub-10-second performances, with Leo Myles-Mills and Aziz Zakari having two each. Joseph Paul Amoah has run a sub-10 only once.

Azamati is also a vital member of the national 4×100m relay team, who has also qualified for the 2025 World Athletics Championships.

This came after their stellar outing at the World Relays in Guangzhou, China, where they recorded a time of 38.32 seconds.
