GRIDCo announces planned power outage in Weija, Kasoa on Sunday, May 25 for critical maintenance

GRIDCo announces dumsor in Weija and Kasoa on Sunday May 25

The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has announced a planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, 25 May 2025, affecting parts of Weija, Kasoa, and surrounding communities.

This temporary electricity interruption is necessary to carry out critical maintenance at the Kasoa Bulk Supply Point to enhance electricity reliability and improve overall power supply service delivery.

According to GRIDCo, the power outage in Kasoa and Weija will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure and ensure long-term energy efficiency across the affected areas.

The following communities are expected to experience the power supply disruption:

Kpormotey, Kalabule, Adaakope, Amuzu Kope, Amanfrom, Denchira, Ashalaja, Adam Nana, Nurses Quarters, Kwame Anum, Kuwait, Lamgma, Fulani, Mama Africa, Broadcasting, and surrounding localities.

In a joint statement, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) also issued an apology for any inconvenience caused by the scheduled maintenance, stating:

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise.”

GRIDCo has urged all residents and businesses in the affected communities to prepare for the power outage, emphasizing the importance of this work in delivering a more stable and efficient electricity supply in the future.
