Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, a well-known sports journalist, has been appointed the new Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
Mr Ankrah, who also serves as President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association, will oversee the authority’s transformation as Ghana aims for sporting success.
The seasoned broadcaster brings extensive expertise to his new post, given his commitment for the growth of sports, particularly the “least financed sports.”
Mr. Ankrah is expected to collaborate closely with Mr. Kofi Adams, Sports and Recreation Minister, in developing, organising, promoting, and managing competitive sports.
With the recurrent challenge of keeping Ghana’s national stadiums to meet international standards, Mr. Ankrah’s task as NSA Boss won’t be easy.
But his dedication to sports development and his commitment to excellence could be a game-changer for the NSA as they look to regain public trust.
Mr Ankrah’s experience in the sports industry, combined with his journalistic expertise, would undoubtedly serve him well in his new endeavour.
