A Level 200 student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has died after reportedly falling from a multi-storey hostel building.
The deceased, Ransford Amankwah Asomani, was pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agribusiness Management.
The incident occurred on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at a private hostel facility located at Ayeduase, near the university campus.
According to reports, fellow students, with assistance from a police patrol team, rushed him to the KNUST Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
In a statement issued on Monday, February 9, 2026, the University Relations Officer, Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, confirmed that the family of the student has been notified.
He added that the KNUST Police, in collaboration with the university’s security services, has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Management will provide further updates to the media and the public as soon as all the facts are established,” the statement said.
