A third suspect in the murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah, has reportedly died after a brief illness.
The deceased’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, confirmed the development to Citi News, saying he was informed by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer handling the case.
“Yesterday we went to court and I can confirm that the third suspect has passed on. I was told by the Police CID, the one who is in charge of the case. We thank God that our brother has started seeking justice for himself,” Amoako said.
The suspect’s death introduces a new twist to the high-profile case, which has gripped public attention since the brutal killing.
The Amoah’s family has repeatedly called for a swift and thorough investigation to ensure justice and closure.
Police are yet to release an official statement on the reported death.
The Immigration Officer, Amoah, was declared missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate.
His body was discovered days later in a drain at Aboum Junction.
Investigations revealed that the meeting was arranged following WhatsApp exchanges involving images of cash, allegedly to settle a debt.
One of the suspects claimed he gave Amoah GH¢500,000 to pay off a debt and retain the balance, but inconsistencies in his account raised suspicion.
He was initially charged with kidnapping and later arrested for murder after police found a bloodstained camouflage fabric and a fufu pestle wrapped in polythene at his residence.
