Chelsea produced a resilient and disciplined performance to earn a hard-fought result against Arsenal in a storm-hit London derby, despite being reduced to 10 men for much of the match.

The game began at a frantic pace, with both sides pushing forward aggressively. Chelsea settled quickly and created the better early chances, using sharp passing and quick transitions to put Arsenal under pressure.

Their efforts were rewarded midway through the first half when Trevoh Chalobah struck a well-placed finish to give the Blues the lead.

Chelsea dominated the opening half an hour as Arsenal struggled to pose the home side problems, and the Blues created several chances.

The game changed on 38 minutes when Moises Caicedo saw a straight red for a tackle on Mikel Merin,o and the visitors enjoyed more of the ball in the second period.

But Chelsea continued to pose a threat and were more than equal to Arsenal even with a man less, as we went in search of all three points.

Estevão was at the centre of Chelsea’s brightest early moments. The Brazilian nearly created the first chance after linking with Pedro Neto, who was blocked before shooting. Moments later, the teenager had two big opportunities—first firing over from João Pedro’s cross, then helping drive attacks that kept Arsenal pinned back.

Chelsea’s press worked well as João Pedro dispossessed Piero Hincapié, only for Riccardo Calafiori’s recovery to stop a shot, and the follow-up pass to Enzo Fernández went astray. Raya was then forced into a save after more clever play from Estevão led to a powerful Enzo strike.

Arsenal struggled to gain momentum until the game flipped on 35 minutes when Moisés Caicedo caught Mikel Merino’s ankle. After a long stoppage and VAR check, Anthony Taylor showed Caicedo a red card.

Chelsea stayed solid as Sánchez denied Gabriel Martinelli with a sharp save before halftime, and even with 10 men, Reece James saw an effort blocked.

The Blues started the second half strongly, with João Pedro testing Raya at his near post from a James free-kick. But Arsenal equalised just before the hour when Bukayo Saka cut inside and crossed for Merino to head in at the far post.

Chelsea still threatened through James’ crossfield pass and Garnacho’s driving run, though Neto’s header lacked power.

Despite Arsenal dominating territory, Chelsea continued pushing, showing resilience and intensity throughout a dramatic, stormy derby night.
