Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC proudly inaugurated its new branch in the vibrant mining hub of Tarkwa, marking its third location in the Western Region.

This milestone underscores the Bank’s unwavering commitment to expanding financial accessibility, promoting inclusivity, and driving economic growth as part of its retail expansion strategy.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from the Bank of Ghana, revered Chiefs and Elders of the Tarkwa Traditional Area, members of the Republic Bank Executive Committee, law enforcement officials, esteemed customers, and guests.

Their presence highlighted the collective support for this significant step toward fostering economic prosperity in Tarkwa and its environs.

In his keynote address, the representative from the Bank of Ghana commended Republic Bank for its dedication to extending innovative financial services to the Western Region.

“The establishment of this branch is a testament to Republic Bank’s role in advancing financial inclusion and supporting the economic aspirations of Ghanaians. We encourage the people of Tarkwa to seize this opportunity to access tailored financial solutions that will empower businesses and individuals alike,” the representative noted.

A customer, Mr. Moses Armah, President and Owner of  Medeama FC and  Chairman of Mospacka Group of Companies shared his experience with Republic Bank, noting its pivotal role in his business growth.

“Republic Bank has been a trusted partner, providing customised financial solutions that have helped my business thrive. Their presence in Tarkwa will undoubtedly open doors for many entrepreneurs and indigenes, fostering collective growth,” he said.

Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, Managing Director of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC, reiterated the Bank’s commitment to empowering the Tarkwa community through innovative financial solutions. Reflecting on the rich legacy of Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL), the parent company with over 187 years of excellence, he stated, “This branch is more than an expansion, it is a commitment to the people of Tarkwa. Addressing the region’s economic potential, Dr. Dzoboku highlighted the Bank’s efforts to support local talent and entrepreneurship.

To this end, we have prioritised recruiting staff from the Western Region for this branch, ensuring that our operations reflect the community’s dynamism. Our Fantastic Four Credit Cards, including Ghana’s pioneering Business Credit Card, are designed to empower businesses of all sizes, making financial tools accessible to everyone, not just the elite,” he added.

In line with Republic Bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, Dr. Dzoboku emphasised that the Bank’s presence in Tarkwa extends beyond financial services. “We are dedicated to creating meaningful impact through initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on Quality Education, Good Health and Well-Being, Clean Water and Sanitation, and Climate Action. Our Power to Make a Difference (PMAD) initiative will drive transformative projects that uplift the Tarkwa community,” he affirmed.

The new Tarkwa branch offers a comprehensive suite of services, including business financing, digital banking solutions, mortgage facilities, and specialised products for women entrepreneurs.
