Kumasi witnessed an unforgettable night as Ghana’s rap icon, Sarkodie, delivered a breathtaking performance at the Rapperholic concert, proving once again why he remains at the pinnacle of African hip-hop.

The event, which took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, pulled massive crowds to the Ashanti regional capital, marking the first time the annual Rapperholic brand—usually hosted in Accra—was staged in Kumasi.

Despite heavy rains that threatened to disrupt the much-anticipated event, fans thronged the venue in their numbers, braving the weather just to experience the magic of Obidi’s stagecraft.

From the moment Sarkodie stepped onto the stage, the atmosphere transformed into pure energy. His grand entrance sent the crowd into a frenzy, and within minutes, it was evident that no amount of rain could dampen the spirit of music lovers in the Garden City.

With back-to-back hits ranging from classics like ‘You Go Kill Me’ to chart-toppers like ‘Countryside and Non-Living Thing,’ the BET award winner had the audience rapping along word for word.

What stood out most was the loyalty of his fanbase. Even as the rain persisted, the crowd stayed rooted, waving hands, dancing, and chanting his lyrics with unrelenting passion.

At several points, Sarkodie paused to acknowledge the resilience of his Kumasi supporters, thanking them for proving that true love for music surpasses any obstacle.

Adding to the thrill were surprise guest appearances from fellow artists, which elevated the concert into a star-studded celebration of Ghanaian music.

The stage, lights, and sound blended seamlessly with the raw energy of the crowd, creating a festival-like atmosphere that cemented the night as historic.

The Rapperholic concert by Sarkodie in Kumasi was not just a performance; it was a testament to his unmatched ability to unite and electrify music lovers, no matter the circumstance.

Rain or shine, the people of Kumasi stood tall with their King of Rap, making the night a powerful reminder of the enduring bond between Sarkodie and his fans.

After the concert, Sarkodie received praises from legendary hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone.
