The Ghana Police Service has apprehended 26 individuals for brandishing and firing toy guns indiscriminately in a public space.
The suspects are currently assisting with investigations and will soon be arraigned to face justice.
As part of the ongoing investigations, a quantity of toy guns has been retrieved from the suspects.
Operations underway to curb the menace
Special police operations are ongoing to arrest others involved in this emerging trend, which has been reported in some parts of the country.
The Police Service has issued a strong caution to the youth to refrain from engaging in such activities, noting that it constitutes offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace, contrary to Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
