The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has summoned Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), for questioning over a corruption investigation tied to a controversial revenue assurance audit contract.

A letter dated July 25, 2025, names Adom-Otchere as a suspect in an ongoing probe into suspected corruption and related offenses.

The investigation centres on a contract awarded by GACL to a private firm allegedly owned by the CEO of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).

According to the OSP’s directive, Adom-Otchere is to report to the Special Prosecutor’s office at South Ridge on Thursday, July 31, 2025, to assist with the investigation.

However, Paul Adom-Otchere has described the OSP’s decision to invite him for questioning over a revenue assurance audit contract as an act of “witch-hunting.”

Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsnite on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Adom-Otchere insisted that the concerns raised by the OSP are management-level issues, not matters within the remit of the board he once chaired.

He said “My initial reaction would be that there’s a witch-hunt. I just hope that I’m wrong because the issues that are being investigated are purely management issues. It’s not really a Board chairman issue.”

He explained that his legal team is currently unavailable due to prior court engagements in Kumasi.

Adom Otchere said he has formally written to the OSP to request a new date and has pledged to honour the invitation once his lawyers are available with regards to probing the revenue audit deal.
