NLA unveils newly-refurbished 250-seater Brennan Hall

The National Lottery Authority (NLA), in partnership with KGL and Electroland Ghana Limited, has unveiled the newly refurbished Brennan Hall at the national headquarters of the Authority in Accra.
The commissioning was done by the Board Chairman, Mr Gary Nimako Marfo, assisted by some Board Members, the Director General of NLA, Mr Samuel Awuku, the Deputy Director General, Ms. Anna Horma Miezah and the Group Chairman of KGL, Mr Alex Dadey

The Brennan Hall, the main venue for hosting NLA draws, is named after William Francis Brennan, a Maltese national credited with introducing the lottery to Ghana.
He was also the first Director General of the then National Lottery Department and oversaw the first draw in Ghana in 1962.
The refurbishment of the hall includes the installation of new screens and sound systems, a newly built media room, a 250-seater capacity auditorium, and newly refurbished washrooms.
The Director General of the NLA, Samuel Awuku, told the media that the refurbishment is a testament to what partnerships can achieve.

He stated that it was the fulfillment of a personal desire to give the hall a facelift and provide a fitting monument to honor the first Director General.
“We’ve done a befitting job as a team, and today, wherever Brennan is, he should be happy that this place is worthy of his legacy,” Awuku said.
He expressed his satisfaction that the refurbishment did not draw from the NLA’s coffers but instead served as an opportunity to deepen collaboration with their partners.

Group Chairman of KGL, Alex Dadey, highlighted that the collaboration between the NLA and KGL “has become a blueprint for what Public Private Partnerships should be.”
He advised the government to replicate this model to ensure that more state agencies become profitable and save taxpayer money.
