National Security Minister, Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah, has strongly refuted accusations circulating on social media, linking him to illegal gold mining activities, commonly referred to as “galamsey.”
Baseless allegations
Mr. Kan-Dapaah described the claims made by Mr. Kevin Taylor as unfounded and baseless.
He emphasized, “These allegations are false and without merit. I wish to emphatically state that I have no concessions and I am not engaged in any form of mining, whether legal or illegal.”
Attempt to tarnish reputation
The Minister further noted that the accusations are a calculated attempt to damage his reputation and divert attention from his work.
“These malicious claims are a deliberate attempt to tarnish my reputation and distract from my work,” he stated.
Call for public vigilance
Mr. Kan-Dapaah urged the public to disregard the baseless accusations and remain vigilant against misinformation, particularly on social media platforms.
He called for heightened awareness in the face of growing misinformation online.
