Minority files RTI request to demand cost of DRIP project

The Minority Caucus in Parliament is seeking detailed information on the prices of road construction equipment procured under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Launched yesterday, DRIP aims to address road maintenance challenges by collaborating with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and providing them with essential earth-moving equipment.
In a statement signed by Mahama Ayariga, Ranking Member of the Committee on Information and Communication, the Minority Caucus requested this information under section 18 of the Rights to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989).
They are specifically demanding the cost of each unit of equipment procured for DRIP, the payment schedule for the equipment, and the total payment made for the equipment to date, among other details.
The Minority Caucus emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the implementation of DRIP, underscoring their commitment to ensuring that public funds are used efficiently and effectively for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
