Michelle Agyemang will miss the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury, ending what was primed to be a continuation of her breakthrough campaign.
The 19-year-old starred in England’s 2025 Women’s Euros triumph by scoring crucial goals in the knockout stages en route to being named as the Young Player of the Tournament.
However, after starting five of six games in the Women’s Super League for Brighton and Hove Albion as an Arsenal loanee, Agyemang won’t play any further role for the remainder of the season.
Michelle Agyemang suffered an ACL injury in England’s 3-0 win over Australia in a friendly game and was stretchered off, with the extent of the non-contact injury later determined.
Writing on her Instagram page, the rising star, who is of Ghanaian descent, promised to come back stronger from the injury by stating, “I’m disappointed that results show a torn ACL. I am so grateful for all the kind words and support from everyone. Recovery starts now, I will be back stronger than before.”
The injury of Michelle Agyemang has also ruled Agyemang out of England’s friendly game against Ghana on December 2.
Michelle Agyemang will be unable to help her team in the remaining matches of the season. This incident will undoubtedly impact the Lionesses‘ chances in upcoming games, as her experience and talents were essential to the team.
The upcoming matches will show how the squad adapts to the absence of this key player.
