According to reports, the man appeared to be in a hurry, running along the bridge just moments before the incident.

The victim, dressed in denim trousers and a white long-sleeved shirt, was found lying motionless on the street beneath the overpass.

He didn’t stop, and speak to anyone, without hesitation, climbed over the railing of the Achimota overhead bridge before plunging onto the road below.

Some passersby attempted to render aid, but the victim was unresponsive after he jumped from the Achimota overhead bridge.

An eyewitness said “He was just running. No one really knew what was going on. Before we could even think to react, he had already jumped,” said one eyewitness. “It was too fast to stop him.”

The cause of his actions remains unclear, but police say they have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.

The body has been conveyed to a morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Authorities are also appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the deceased and contact his relatives.
