President John Dramani Mahama is in Doha, Qatar, to participate in the Doha Forum 2025 at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar.
Mahama, who arrived in Doha on Saturday morning, will make two critical interventions during the Forum: an opening remark on “Education as Justice in Times of Crisis” and a panel discussion on Economic Empowerment in Africa: Pathway to Inclusive Prosperity.
President Mahama will also hold talks with H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.
The president travelled to Doha aboard a Qatar Airways Executive Jet provided by the State of Qatar and will leave Doha on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
This is the 23rd edition of the Doha Forum in the Qatari capital, with several heads of state and diplomats attending.
Key topic this year focuses on the growing divide between the Global North and South.
Among those attending the two-day forum are Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.
“This will be the generation that can solve childhood death. It can eradicate poverty, it can eradicate polio, and it can bring down over 95% of diseases like malaria, HIV and AIDS,” Gates said, “We should not stop with the progress we’ve made. Together, we can save the lives of millions of children and empower them to make great contributions.”
