Kumasi Asante Kotoko preserved their unbeaten record in the Ghana Premier League after sharing the spoils in a thrilling 1–1 draw with Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in their match-day 10 fixture.

Though the Porcupine Warriors failed to secure all three points, they remain the only side yet to lose a game this season.

Kotoko currently sit sixth on the league log with two outstanding matches, owing to their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

They are scheduled to host Young Apostles on Wednesday, November 19, in one of the outstanding games, a tie that could lift them into the top four should they claim victory.

Aduana Stars stunned the home crowd just four minutes into the match when Emmanuel Marfo reacted quickest to a spilt effort by goalkeeper Aziz Daari.

A ferocious strike from Seidu Saana forced Daari into a save he could not hold, allowing the in-form Marfo to pounce and slot home the opener.

The “Ogya Boys” maintained the momentum after the goal, creating several anxious moments in the Kotoko half.

Daari was the busiest man on the pitch, producing key saves to prevent the visitors from doubling their lead.

Kotoko struggled to string passes together and rarely threatened, with Aduana taking control of the midfield and dictating the pace of the game.

Apart from the spirited chants of the Porcupine Tertiary supporters’ group, much of the home crowd watched on nervously as their side laboured to find rhythm.

Sensing the growing dominance of the visitors, Coach Abdul-Karim Zito introduced Baba Yahaya for Samuel Tenadu to bring stability and creativity to Kotoko’s midfield,  a substitution that proved decisive.

Just four minutes later, right-back Lord Amoah unleashed a spectacular long-range strike to level the score.

Capitalising on a poor clearance by the Aduana defence, Amoah fired from about 35 yards, his effort taking a wicked deflection before beating goalkeeper Prince Osei.

Buoyed by the equaliser, Kotoko mounted sustained pressure in search of a second goal, but Aduana held firm until halftime.

Kotoko emerged from the break with renewed energy and intensity, attacking from all fronts as the fans rallied behind them.

The Porcupine Warriors dominated the early exchanges of the second half, forcing Aduana to retreat and rely on swift counterattacks.

The closing stages produced end-to-end action, with both teams pushing for a late winner. Despite the frantic pace and near misses at both ends, the match ended 1–1 after 90 minutes of exciting football.

Kotoko’s unbeaten run continues, but they will look to turn draws into wins as they aim to climb higher on the league table.
